We fix mistakes in the open. This log lists every substantive correction to numbers, labels or claims on the site: what was wrong, what it says now, and the date. Pre-launch fixes from our own scrutiny reviews (3 October 2026) are included. To report an error, contact the StackPath team with the page and the source.

Correction log
| Date | What was wrong | What it says now |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-03 | Grid capacity for data centres given as 1,300 MVA connected or contracted and 1,600 MVA applied for, figures from EirGrid's July 2020 paper. | About 2,400 MVA contracted (EirGrid AIRAA 2026–35: ~2,100 transmission + ~300 distribution) and about 5.8 GW of possible new demand (system operators' market sounding, cited in CRU2025236). |
| 2026-10-03 | Renewables gap for new data-centre demand given as 5.55 TWh a year (about 2.1 GW of wind), mixing CSO metered data with EirGrid forecasts. | Recomputed on one basis (EirGrid 9.4 → 14.6 TWh): 4.16 TWh a year, about 1.6 GW of onshore wind. |
| 2026-10-03 | On-site combustion plant described in GW and as 'fossil'. | Shown as megawatts of thermal input (MWth/GWth), labelled combustion plant, with HVO noted. |
| 2026-10-03 | Amazon described as using about 49% of Irish data-centre electricity, with no caveat. | Up to about 49%, an upper bound from two sources (EPA reports against CSO); roughly 40–50%. Amazon's licensed sites reported about 3.7 TWh in 2025. |
| 2026-10-03 | Hero tile counted 16 EPA licences (an older list including withdrawn and rejected licences), contradicting the Power tab. | Counts licences held or sought from the current EPA dataset. |
| 2026-10-03 | Energia's 150 MW Huntstown project described as Microsoft's; the reason for refusing an Equinix appeal attributed to the Board. | Applicant named as Huntstown Power Co. (Energia), with Microsoft as the renewables buyer; refusal reasons given as recorded in the case files. |
| 2026-10-03 | Inspector-report note said five reports gave no power figure. | 13 of 22, computed from the data. |
| 2026-10-03 | Europe comparison said wind was flat at about 38% since 2020 and gas 'filled the gap'. | Computed from the trend: wind ranged 31–38%, gas's share fell, and only net imports grew. |
| 2026-10-03 | Build-time finding hard-coded as about 2 years (five cases) and a hard-coded price ratio. | Computed from the data, with the sample size shown. |
| 2026-10-03 | The state's RESS auction presented as the renewables data centres must match. | Retitled and explained: state-supported projects can't count towards a data centre's 80%. |
| 2026-10-03 | Capex section called five companies Ireland's 'five largest' operators, including Oracle. | Named as five US hyperscalers. |
| 2026-10-03 | Source line under the grid-capacity chart still cited a law-firm summary as 'second-hand'. | Cites EirGrid AIRAA and CRU2025236, and says the two figures aren't like for like. |
| 2026-10-03 | Gas contracts shown in MW; the interruptible-gas table printed raw 'true', 'false' and 'null'. | MWth and GWth (maximum hourly load); labels Firm or exempt, Uncertain, Likely interruptible. |
| 2026-10-03 | Investment callout said Irish data-hall construction 'stayed flat', contradicting its own tile. | Says it fell, with the numbers computed from the data; tile relabelled as hyperscaler floor area. |
| 2026-10-03 | Siting note implied Dublin flood risk had been checked against OPW maps. | States that flood risk is unchecked for almost every candidate site. |
| 2026-10-03 | Operator page for Amazon counted two Northern Ireland power deals as 'in Ireland'. | Northern Ireland deals excluded; share caveated as an upper bound on operator and campus pages. |
| 2026-10-03 | Press-review text said ~36% of contracted capacity is used. | About 38–46%, allowing for power factor and the two capacity bases. |
| 2026-10-03 | The CRU's interruptible-gas consultation described as 'doubling' a gas deficit. | Two scenarios: +10% headroom to a 9% deficit by 2033 (best estimate), or +3% to an 18% deficit (risk-adjusted). |
