Privacy
Reading StackPath needs no account and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If you subscribe to the Weekly, we store your email address, the optional role you pick, the page you signed up from and the time, on our own server in the EU. We use it only to send the newsletter, never share or sell it, and delete it when you ask.

If you subscribe to the Weekly
- What we keep: your email address; the role you picked, if any; the page you signed up from; the wording you agreed to; and when you subscribed or unsubscribed. We don't keep your IP address with your signup.
- Why: to send you the Weekly, which you asked for (your consent is the legal basis). We may count signups by role and by page to see who reads the site.
- Where: in a database on our own servers, hosted by Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland (EU).
- Who else sees it: no one. When we start sending, we'll name any email-delivery service we use on this page before your first email.
- How long: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your address, marked "unsubscribed", so we never email you again. Ask us and we'll delete it completely.
When you read the site
- No accounts, no advertising cookies. The site remembers a few display choices in your own browser (light or dark, and the last measure you picked on a map). They never leave your device.
- Server logs: like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (address, page, time, browser) for a short time, to keep the site secure and working. They roll over automatically and aren't used to identify readers.
- Cloudflare: the site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and gives us privacy-friendly visit counts without cookies.
Your rights
- You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or unsubscribe, by emailing [email protected].
- If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
